Shut down

by Preconceived Noceans

Last Wednesday, we were getting some nice northeast wind. For our main spot near Rochester, northeast is the best direction, allowing full onshore winds and directional swells. With the frigid weather we experienced at the beginning of the week, the inlet we paddle out of completely iced up. There were some good sized waves, but way too much ice in the water. Aurelien and I checked out a new spot nearby, but it too was completely frozen.

It hurts to get completely shut down when we have the best chance at waves, we will keep trying and scouting new places to find one that has a little more liquid floating around in the lineup.
